1. You'll deepen your yoga practice

Practicing yoga regularly can be challenging if you have a busy schedule. If you struggle to find time to practice in your daily life, then one benefit of going on a retreat is being able to practice every day, several times a day in fact. Also, remember that yoga is more than just the poses and during retreats we have more time to explore the teachings and many other practices of yoga that we often don't have time for in regular classes.

2. You'll detox digitally

Going on retreat allows you to turn off your technology. It’s not that you can’t be connected, but you can choose to disconnect if you want to. We realize that most of us our connected moment to moment for work and social reasons, but take the opportunity of going on retreat to simply tell everyone that you will be disconnected for a few days. Tell them it is required by the retreat if that makes it easier! 

3. You’ll connect with nature

Being in nature is energizing and allows us to recharge. The retreat will be held in the natural beauty of the Western Catskill Mountains. Connect with nature on a deeper level, immerse yourself in your surroundings, walk in the woods, breathe in the fresh air, listen to the birds. 

4. You'll eat well without the work

All meals are included and will be made with ingredients chosen with care for your health and wellbeing. Going on retreat is an opportunity to eat healthy, delicious meals without having to worry about it yourself.....all will be prepared for you. 5. You'll relax and de-stress

A yoga retreat gives you the opportunity to truly relax. Sometimes we have to be away from home to give ourselves permission to really relax. Going on retreat allows you to listen to your body, rest when you need it, and be free from stress. Everything is planned and you have nothing to do but concentrate on the retreat. There will be some free time when you can do whatever you like each day and you can choose time to be alone if that is what you want.

6. You'll make new friends

One of the reasons we started Nude York Yoga was to create a space where a community of like-minded individuals could flourish. The retreat will be an opportunity to meet new people and maybe get to know some people you have already met in class on a deeper level. Practicing yoga, eating and having fun with others during the weekend will allow you to forge new connections with people who have similar interests and who can add positivity to your life.

7. You'll focus on YOU

We all work hard at what we do and we give so much of ourselves in our daily lives that it can be difficult to take time just for ourselves. One big reason to go on a retreat is to take that time for yourself, time that is so important to your health and happiness. Going to a new place and getting out of your daily routine creates an opportunity for you to see yourself in a new light. Attending a yoga retreat can give you a new perspective and you never know what you can learn from others that may affect your future choices, or make you see your own circumstances in a different way. Insights are plentiful and abundant when you are on a yoga retreat and it’s amazing how much a simple retreat can change your life. A retreat is all about you, your yoga, eating healthy food, and slowing down. 

Maybe the idea of going on a yoga retreat sounds a little scary or makes you a little uncomfortable…..you have some doubts, you’re not sure what to expect. If so, that’s great! When you push past the edges of your comfort zone, you break through limitations and can achieve some truly great things. Pushing yourself deeper in your practice will help you move though life with more grace and ease.
